Watsons offers a variety of ways to add an image to your plaque. From a bas relief in cast bronze to a high-resolution etching to our innovative PhotoRelief™ plaques, you’re sure to find just the right method for including an image on your plaque.
The finished image will be an artist’s 3D interpretation of your photograph in cast bronze or aluminum and mechanically attached to the plaque background. The standard overall height is 6” to 12” with a finished depth of 3/4” to 1”. (Requires a six-week lead time.)
A two-dimensional precision tooled plaque that is an alternative to the expense and time-consuming process of a bas relief plaque.
A seamless blend of casting and photography, our innovative PhotoRelief™ technique illustrates the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words.”
Etched Portrait on Metal
Etching offers the precision required to replicate your high-definition photograph, line drawing or complex artwork. Etchings are available in stainless steel, bronze, brass and copper.
Giclée Print on Metal
Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is the term for high quality reproductions of art utilizing high-resolution inkjet printers. The result is a picture perfect product that is excellent for indoor applications and even some exterior ones.
Add an image to your plaque by choosing a ceramic insert. Watsons can apply a full-color digital transfer to a standard-sized blank ceramic base, available in oval, round and rectangular shapes. Ceramic inserts can also be printed for medallion plaques.
Laser Engraved Polished Black Granite
Watsons can engrave your artwork or copy onto polished black granite, which is suitable for interior or exterior applications. Choose from 11 common shapes and sizes for the base material. Utilize the six rectangle or square sizes in tandem to produce artwork over a larger surface area than our maximum single piece size of 18” x 24”.
Etched Line Art
When an emblem or logo is too detailed to be manufactured as part of the plaque, it is crafted as a separate etched piece and attached to the plaque. There are nearly no detail restrictions with an etched emblem; however, additional charges will apply.
